When I submit an Open OnDemand interactive job, I receive an error like the following. Why is this happening and what can be done about it?
If you are seeing a “Failed to submit session” error in a red box when you submit an interactive job on Open OnDemand, please read the error text first. Often the cause of the error is readily apparent from the text in the gray area of the red box, like in the image above. In the image above, the error is “Disk quota exceeded”, which means your storage space does not have enough room to launch the interactive job.
If the cause of the error is not obvious from the text, please read on for some common causes. If none of the below common causes apply, please contact Support.
Common Causes:
- If the error text starts with
Disk quota exceeded
then your storage space in/data/user/$USER
