We’re pleased to share a new opportunity at UCLA within the Office of Advanced Research Computing organization for a Statistical Computing Consultant professional within the Statistical Methods and Data Analytics group which provides support to UCLA researchers campus-wide for a broad spectrum of methods related to data analysis.
As our new Statistical Computing Consultant, you will join a team of highly trained statistical consultants that work directly with UCLA faculty, graduate students, and staff to enable scientific research.
The Statistical Methods and Data Analytics group provides expertise on a broad spectrum of methods related to data analysis, with a focus on statistical analysis and inference. The consultant provides solutions to data analysis obstacles for UCLA researchers through consultation services, and collaborates with world-renown UCLA faculty, working directly as an analyst on research projects with opportunities to co-author scientific publications. The consultant also provides general guidance to broader audiences by leading workshops and contributing to the group’s widely used statistics website (https://stats.oarc.ucla.edu/). Faced with a vast universe of statistical methods used by researchers from a diverse array of disciplines, the position requires exceptional skills in problem-solving, statistical software coding and programming, self-motivated learning, and communication.
