We are hiring a scientific software engineer to work in the Data Assimilation Research Section at the National Center for Atmospheric Research.

Here is my sales pitch:

We develop the Data Assimilation Research Testbed (DART), an open-source community facility that provides software tools for data assimilation research, development and education. We interact with scientists using data assimilation for climate modeling, numerical weather prediction, space weather, and flood forecasting for hurricanes. This would be a great opportunity for someone who wants to get into research software engineering, whether they are a scientist who wants to build software, or a programmer who is interested in science and HPC.

The position can be 100% remote within the US.
