Hi, I’m Ritul, a Masters student at UT Dallas specializing in the Data Science Track.

Experience with HPC:
I consider myself as a beginner in using HPC and Linux Based Systems. As of now I am a part of the OpenHPC Mentorship Program and am working with Cloudbank and AWS.

My Workflow:
I am a AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner and as a part of the OpenHPC Mentorship program I am currently working on documenting on setting up OpenHPC clusters on AWS using tools like packer.

Challenge:
My biggest challenge would be, well, I wouldn’t say it as a challenge. I am new to this branch of HPC so the more I get into it, the better my understanding gets. Its an never-ending learning curve which I believe is pushing me ahead to expand my knowledge in this field. Looking forward to the opportunities ahead!

Hey Ritul,

Thanks for coming to the kickoff and I’m happy to hear you want to learn more HPC to go along with your mentorship! We don’t have any intro docs for Europa yet, but we do have them available for Ganymede, http://docs.oithpc.utdallas.edu/

Ganymede is OHPC 1.3.x and CentOS 7.x while Europa is OHPC 2.x and CentOS 8.x so while some things are difference, the general idea is the same.

After finals but before Xmas break we will have a training. So, stay tuned to ask.ci and we will post once it is set up.
