UMass Boston is looking for a Research Computing Consultant/Systems Engineer:

This role is a mix of researcher and systems-facing responsibilities, with a heavier focus on systems (at least initially).

“Reporting to the Director of Research Computing, the Research Computing Consultant/ Systems Engineer will work with senior staff and faculty to facilitate use of Research Computing systems and technologies. The incumbent will regularly engage researchers, via consultations and training, in the use of state-of-the-art Research Computing systems, tools, and software to enable research productivity. The incumbent will provide Linux workstation and general technology support for research needs; will serve as a resource for researchers; and will compile, install, configure and support scientific applications. The incumbent will also assist with pre- purchase hardware specification, design, installation and configuration of workstations, servers and related equipment; and will administrator, monitor and maintain high performance compute cluster(s) and storage, compute, and web servers for use by faculty, staff and students for research.”
