Position Details and Requirements
This position will develop an understanding of Penn State’s research community and work with administrative offices within the Office of the Senior Vice President for Research as well as Penn State IT and central administrative units to ensure the successful implementation of changes to research administrative policies, process, and procedures. The initial focus of this position will be to manage the organizational changes in relationship to the implementation of new and evolving federal disclosure requirements for institutional officials, faculty, and research teams. This change will involve the integration of existing policies, new processes, and a new system for all required disclosures and the required review, monitoring, and reporting of them.
In addition to specific projects as assigned, this position will be tasked with establishing consistent change practices for managing changes related to OSVPR administrative policy, process, and system changes. These practices must be integrated with project management, business analysis and communication practices to ensure a cohesive and consistent approach to change management as well as the establishment of metrics that measure the effectiveness of change management efforts and for ongoing analysis and improvement of those practices.
Education and Experience:
Typically requires a Bachelors degree or higher plus 5 years of related experience. Or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
The successful candidate must be able to build and maintain successful relationships with stakeholders, educate others on organizational change management practices, partner with project managers to manage risk and ensure the achievement of project objectives, and collaborate with other change management professionals within Penn State to ensure alignment of change management practices.
Candidates with certification in any change management methodology (e.g., ProSci), experience in research administration, and project management preferred, but training in one or more of those areas can be provided for the right candidate. Proficiency with risk management, Microsoft Office 365, and Microsoft Power apps is not required but highly preferred.
